Hanover Green Veterinary Clinic offers a wide array of surgical & clinical services…

PREVENTATIVE MEDICINE

ultrapic1Preventative medicine for all pets includes routine checkups which include the examination of teeth, ears, eyes, skin and hair coat. The heart, abdomen, and joints are evaluated while the client is asked to relate information about the pet’s activity level, diet, and social habits. The rabies vaccination must be current for a pet to be seen in our clinic. Feces are examined yearly for intestinal parasites (worms). Monthly application of Advantage or Frontline is encouraged for flea and tick prevention.

For our feline friends, we recommend yearly vaccinations for distemper, upper respiratory disease, and leukemia.

For our canine friends, we recommend yearly innoculations for distemper, parvo, and leptospirosis. Incidence of lyme disease is increasing; yearly vaccinations for lyme disease are therefore recommended. Monthly medication (Interceptor) is available as a preventative for heartworm disease. A yearly test for heartworm disease is required. This test also is an indicator for lyme disease and spotted fever. We advise a Bordetella (kennel cough) innoculation every six months.

ULTRASOUND / ECHOCARDIOLOGY

ultracloseThe Hanover Green Veterinary Clinic is committed to providing your pets with the latest advances in veterinary care. We offer the latest in diagnostic capability for abdominal and heart disease, providing your pet with fast, accurate diagnosis and treatment.

IN-HOUSE LAB & X-RAY

xraypicOur in-house lab and x-ray capabilities provide immediate diagnostic information which enables our medical staff to provide quick and accurate treatment.

Chemotherapy for cancer patients, insulin regulation for diabetic animals, and acupuncture, primarily used for arthritic pets, are treatments that are currently available to our clients.

Chemotherapy

We are proud to now offer chemotherapy treatments, saving clients the expense and inconvenience of traveling to veterinary schools or out of town critical care facilities.  Patients are given the most up to date treatments and are monitored carefully, greatly reducing the complications which previously made chemotherapy unpleasant and unsafe. As in all cases, early detection and immediate care can now greatly increase length and quality of life.  We are now accepting referrals from other veterinarians.

Allergy Testing

Does your pet scratch a lot, constantly lick their paws, have chronic ear infections, and have red, irritated skin?  Your pet may have allergies to food, the environment, or both.  We can send out your pet’s blood work and determine what may be causing your pet to be so uncomfortable.  Based on those results, our doctors will determine what type of treatments may work best to help your pet feel their best.

HomeAgain® Microchip

Your pet is an important part of your family.  Micro-chipping is a safe and easy way to ensure that your pet is returned to you if your pet should ever get lost.  A small microchip with a unique identification number is implanted under the skin, between the shoulder blades.  The microchip will remain there safely for life.  Once the pet is registered, you can have peace of mind that you have done everything to protect your pet.  Call us or visit www.homeagain.com for more information.  You can now add a HomeAgain microchip to any of our packages for only $20!

Boarding

Hanover Green boarding offers an excellent kennel service with air-conditioned cages.  A veterinarian is on-hand during normal business hours so a safe vacation for your pet is assured.  Dogs must be up-to-date on Rabies, DHLPP, & Bordetella vaccines.  Cats must be up-to-date on Rabies and Feline Distemper vaccines.  If your cat is current with the Feline Leukemia vaccine, he may take advantage of our Kitty Condo, a multi-level enclosed cat tree in our cat ward.  Pick-up and drop-off times are during our normal business hours.  For your added convenience, we offer Sunday pick-up hours between 4-6pm.

For our clients whose pet receives medical work either before or during their stay, we are now offering a customer loyalty gift. If a pet boards for 5 nights, you receive $25 off that stay, or free walks ($6/night).  If a pet stays 10 nights or more, you receive $50 off or free walks.  That’s just our way of saying thank you for your loyalty.

Day Boarding

We do offer day boarding for those clients who wish to drop off their pet in the morning and take them home for the night.  This is a perfect option when pets need to be out of the house for renovations, anxiety issues, or to just get some extra love during the day.  Pets must be picked up before 7pm for the day boarding option.  If a longer stay is required, please call to let us know.

Hospital Boarding

If your pet requires more than just giving medications, we offer more attentive boarding in our hospital.  This is the right option for diabetic patients, as well as sick or geriatric pets that require more medical attention during their stay.  Our medical staff will tend to your pet per doctor’s and your specifications, including special feedings, diagnostic testing, or fluid administration.  Your pet will also be leash walked 3 times a day.  This option is $35.00 per night and can be requested for any size pet.  All supplies, medication refills, and medical work are additional.  Please call for more information.

Dentals

A once yearly dental cleaning, much like the procedure performed by your dentist, can help prevent periodontal disease. A dental cleaning involves scaling of all teeth, checking for pockets of infection, loose teeth, and exposed nerve roots, as well as polishing. While a yearly dental procedure does provide cosmetic advantages such as clean teeth and fresh breath, it can also improve your pet’s general health. Infection and inflammation in the mouth can affect your pet’s entire body and can lead to other more serious medical problems such as heart & kidney disease.

Wisdom Panel MX

“I think Zeus is part Rottie, part Shepherd.” “Nah, he’s part Newfie, part Border Collie, but has the markings of a Dodie.” If you want to know what ‘part’ your dog has, we can help. By sending out a simple blood test, we can get results telling us what breeds make up your mixed breed dog. This not only explains personalities and looks, but can also help with future medical treatment of diseases that may only affect certain breeds. Call us or visit www.marsveterinary.com for more information.  You can now add a Wisdom Panel MX to any of our packages for only $85!
